strawberry walnut crisp

welcome strawberry season with this strawberry walnut crisp this morning, while listening to one of the best songs ever, Strawberry Fields.

(serves 4 & takes 45 minutes)


2 lb strawberries, quartered

3 tbsp granulated sugar

2 tbsp fresh lime juice

1½ tbsp + ¼ cup all-purpose flour, separated

kosher salt

¼ cup extra virgin olive oil

2 tbsp maple syrup

1 cup rolled oats

⅓ cup sliced almonds

plain yogurt, for serving, optional


1. preheat to 350°F. in a large bowl, toss strawberries, sugar, lime juice, 1½ tbsp flour, & a pinch of salt. spray a pie dish with nonstick cooking spray, & transfer strawberry mixture to pie dish.

2. in a medium bowl, combine oil & maple syrup. add oats, almonds, ¼ cup flour, & 1 pinch of salt. scatter over filling. bake 35 minutes. serve warm with a dollop of yogurt.
